The prep time takes less than 10 minutes, and there is no cooking time involved. And while this is a traditional recipe, there is one thing I did different: for added flavor I used three types of tomatoes – Roma tomatoes, Ida Gold tomatoes, and Kumato.

A traditional salsa recipe, with fresh avocado. The twist: use different types of tomatoes, for a richer flavor.

  • 4 fresh jalapeños (finely diced)
  • 2 spring onions (finely sliced)
  • 1 avocado (stoned, peeled and chopped)

  • 3-4 cloves garlic (finely minced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Himalaya salt
  • 1 fresh lime (for the jouice)
  • 1 handful cilantro leaves (finely chopped)

Step 1
Toss the main ingredients together. Add seasoning, then stir. Put in the fridge for about 20 minutes before serving - it allows the flavors to mix. You can serve as is, or with other dishes (in wraps, with potatoes, etc.)

This particular recipe may be too spicy for some people. Remove some of the jalapeños if that is the case.

If you like fresh cucumber, you could add a few dices to boost the flavor.
